Our Signature Style

Every project we create is centered around our client’s vision and functional needs for the space. We’re known for creating outdoor oases that mix Mediterranean warmth with California rustic styles. We choose organic textures, drought-tolerant plants, and design details that make your backyard your most-loved space in your home.

Our Seamless Process for Outdoor Living Renovations

01

The Discovery Call

Once you submit the form, Alejandra will reach out via email to schedule a short phone discovery call. This is where we get to know you, learn about your space, and make sure we’re the right fit for your project. We’ll ask about your vision, your timeline, and what you’re hoping to create.

02

The On-Site Consultation

If we’re a great fit, the next step is an on-site consultation at your property. Jonathan will come out to walk the space, take measurements, and gather everything needed to put together an accurate proposal for the project. This visit includes a $150 paid consultation fee, which reflects the time, expertise, and intention we bring to every project from day one. If you decide to move forward working together, the $150 consultation fee is credited toward the project cost.

03

The Design

From the on-site visit, we develop a custom design for your space — a detailed plan that brings together your vision, your property’s unique characteristics, and our signature aesthetic. Depending on your needs, we will suggest either a 2D or a 3D design of your outdoor space. You’ll have the opportunity to review, refine, and approve the design before we ever break ground.

04

The Build

Once the design is approved, we get to work on-site! Jonathan leads the build from start to finish, keeping you informed every step of the way through a dedicated project group chat and client portal. We work with focus and intention — one project at a time — so you and your space get the full attention it deserves.

05

The Reveal + Follow-Up

Every project ends with a final walkthrough, brand photos of your finished space, and a one-week check-in to make sure everything is performing and functioning exactly as it should.

Why We Love This Work

We’re truly honored to create outdoor spaces and backyards that add value to our clients’ properties and their lives.

“My wife and I were looking to install 4 large planter boxes for gardening and to landscape the elevated area around it. We found Herencia Landscaping on Yelp and thank God we did. To say that we were satisfied with their work and craftsmanship is an understatement. I highly recommend their business for any landscaping project you may have in mind.”
- Raymond Garcia
“Incredibly professional communication and work. Everything was done quickly and beyond my quality expectations. This family business has earned my respect for the services they provide and has definitely earned my continuing business.”
- Ivan Ilieff
“Their attention to detail is notable. They had caught on to how personal the project was for my husband and I in relation to a family loss and they were kind in creating a moment for us to celebrate the yard's completion with our family. Overall, this family-owned business has a lot of heart on top of the quality of the work and the experience they provided to us as their clients. We're very much looking forward to working with them again in the near future on our front yard!”

Frequently Asked Questions About Backyard Transformation Projects

Can I get a rebate for replacing my lawn with drought-tolerant landscaping?

It's very likely! And we love helping clients take advantage of it when it makes sense. California's Be Water Wise program offers rebates for homeowners who replace their lawn with drought-tolerant or native landscaping. We're listed as a certified installer on the Be Water Wise and CalScape directories, so we know the process inside and out. Ask us about it on your discovery call.

What does an outdoor living project typically cost?

Our backyard renovation and outdoor living projects start at $25,000. Complete transformations with pergolas, outdoor kitchens, native gardens, water features, and lighting typically range from $75,000 to $150,000. We're always upfront about potential investment from the very first conversation and want to design a space you love, and that's within your budget.

Do you build outdoor kitchens in Los Angeles and Orange County?

Yes! Outdoor kitchens are one of our most requested projects. We design and build custom outdoor kitchens ranging from simple built-in grills to fully equipped cooking and dining spaces.

Can you install pools?

We don't build pools under our license, but we work with trusted pool contractors and can include pool design in the overall outdoor living plan so everything integrates seamlessly. If a pool is part of your outdoor space vision, we'll connect you with our trusted pool contractor to integrate that conversation into the broader landscaping design and build project together.

Can you add outdoor living features to an existing landscape?

Absolutely. Many clients come to us with an existing yard that just needs the right additions. We design new elements that integrate beautifully with what's already there.

How long does a backyard renovation take?

Most outdoor living projects run between two and six weeks from start to finish, depending on scope. We'll give you a precise timeline during the design phase.

Do you design landscape lighting and water features?

Yes we do! The right lighting and water features transform a good outdoor space into an extraordinary one. If they're part of your vision, we'll make sure they're integrated thoughtfully
